ALL HANDS ON DECK

As part of a parish family, we love to get the entire family involved! Throughout the year, we have several events that the entire parish can partake in, whether it be through prayer, service, or fun. Join us for any of the listed activities below and get to know your fellow parishioners!

31 Days of Adoration

Come away by yourselves and rest awhile” – Mark 6:31

Beginning on-or-around the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15 and lasting 31 Days (until on-or-around the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 14), each year, our parishes enter into an impactful period of prayer. Guardians commit to an hour (some do much more!) each week, and/or fill-in for hours without scheduled Guardians, to combine for over 1,300 hours of prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament between our two parishes! Maybe you already pray intentionally and deeply each day, but many have not yet implemented such intentional and deep prayer in their lives. This opportunity gives everyone a chance to begin, maintain, or enhance a deeper life of prayer.

Oktoberfest

St. Bridget’s Oktoberfest is a German based festival offering authentic German foods, German beers, German music and German fun. There is something for everyone! Typically the 3rd Saturday in September. Service opportunities include: serving food/drinks; running games; clean up; selling raffle and/or meal tickets; craft making for the Country Store; and more.

Fall Festival

A fun two day festival for the entire family! Live music both days! German food on Saturday & Famous Fried Chicken Dinners on Sunday. 5K Messenger Run on Saturday. Cash Raffle, Quilt Raffle, Basket Raffle, Bakery, Kids Games, Horse Rides, Church & School Tours, Axe Throwing, Jar Game, Bars & Bells, Beer Garden, Bingo-Poker-Black Jack-Big 6, and more. Come join in fellowship with our parish and our community!

With so many events over two days, we truly could not have a successful Fall Festival without many volunteers! Help man a booth, serve food, set-up, tear down, and much more while enjoying the great atmosphere and fellowship!

Chicken at the Fair

During the Fayette County Free Fair we serve our famous Fried Chicken on Tuesday evening to all in our community. Truly an “All Hands On Deck” day of fellowship and service for St. Gabriel, volunteers are needed for a wide-range of roles, including: serving food; preparing food; set up and tear down; helping the youth group serve drinks; taking money; etc.
